Natural Hazards Consulting is an Australian-based practice dealing with the science and practicality of forecasting, communicating about, and responding to natural hazards, to help prevent them becoming natural disasters.

We work with our clients and our partners to:

  • Review and improve multi-hazard natural hazard early warning systems, including communications strategies to assist community response.
  • Improve the operation of national meteorological and hydrological services
  • Help clients understand and use the services that they already receive from national and international warning agencies, so that risk from natural hazards can be reduced without additional ongoing costs.
  • Assist with risk evaluation, whether at government, board, or community level, including for the extreme weather risks associated with a changing climate.
  • Undertake meteorological post-event investigations
  • Discuss natural hazard risks, including pre-season briefings for critical hazards
